VICOM SoftRouter Version 4.0 Installations The recommended installation of the VICOM SoftRouter installs a fat binary version of the product which includes native code for both 68K Mac's and PowerPC's. This fat binary version is intended to work on: • 68k based Mac's running either MacTCP or Open Transport • PowerPC's running Open Transport. The fat binary version will not run on a PowerPC which has MacTCP installed. Note to All Users Running MacTCP We would recommend users to upgrade from MacTCP to Open Transport (which is available from Apple's web site) because some of the features in the SoftRouter are only available if you are running Open Transport. PowerPC's Running MacTCP If you do need to run the VICOM SoftRouter on a PowerPC using MacTCP, you can install the 68k version of the SoftRouter to run in emulation mode. To install this version, click on the "Other Installations" option at the top left of the installer screen. Drag the icon on the left hand side to a hard disk on the right hand side of the screen where you wish to install the SoftRouter. This "other installation" will now allow you to run the VICOM SoftRouter and MacTCP on a PowerPC.
